The Kremlin said on Sunday that US President Donald Trump has invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to join his newly announced โBoard of Peaceโ, a body aimed at addressing global conflicts, including the situation in Gaza.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said Moscow had received information about the initiative but added that Russia was still assessing the proposal and its potential format. He noted that any participation would depend on the boardโs mandate and how it aligns with Russiaโs national interests.
Trump recently unveiled the Board of Peace as part of his broader foreign policy push, naming several high-profile political figures and international representatives. The initiative is expected to focus on post-conflict governance, reconstruction, security arrangements and regional stability in conflict zones.
The invitation to Putin comes amid heightened global tensions, particularly over Ukraine, Gaza and relations between Russia and Western countries. Analysts say Russiaโs possible involvement could significantly influence the boardโs credibility and effectiveness, given Moscowโs role in several major geopolitical disputes.
The White House has not yet released details on whether additional global leaders will be invited or when the board is expected to convene for its first formal meeting.
